Tea and Toast?

Morning tea is ritual for me.
There is something quietening about walking into my
sunshiny, quiet kitchen each morning.
Joy comes to my heart as I pick the teapot, cup, tea,
cozy, and trivet for the morning.
Then it is time to choose what will go with my morning tea.
Will it be toast, which is often what I choose.
This morning it was cornbread with maple syrup.
A croissant is pure delight with fresh berry jam.
Maybe there is a scone in my freezer that easily is popped into the oven.
Often I ask you what is in your cup or share what is in mine.
But for today I am wondering what do you enjoy with your morning tea?

On a side note:  Thanks beth for helping me get my header together.  I love it!

  1. I generally enjoy my morning tea alone --- plain and simple.

  2. I like tea with toast, particularly when I'm not feeling well. But my favourite food with tea is pain au chocolat! :)

  3. I don't usually have my tea until mid-morning, long after I've had my breakfast. Sometimes, I will have a mini muffin (or 2), but most of the time, it's just a cup of Earl Grey (in a lovely teacup, of course) all by itself.

I love your header...it's beautiful, as is the spirit of your blog.

  4. I have my morning tea without anything else. I have a daily medication that must be taken awhile before I eat anything. First thing, I walk into the kitchen, start the tea kettle, swallow my pill - and then take my teacup to the living room for a few quiet moments before the day begins.

  9. The past few mornings I've been having a slice of blueberry/peach pound cake that I blogged about, but my hubby and I finished it off today, so I'll be back to toast until I bake something else.
And I LOVE your new blog header/banner!

  10. I'm a morning girl, and I love my morning tea! A soft boiled egg + piece of hot toast with raspberry or apricot jam never fails to delight me. A rich, buttery croissant at the weekend for a little extra. ;o) When I was younger I didn't eat breakfast. I had the tea, but no food. Now I'm a breakfast convert. LOVE, love, love your new banner. Happy Weekend, Marilyn ((HUGS))

  11. Today it was tea and crumpets for a special breakfast with a steaming pot of Lady Amherst Rose. Add some Greek Yogurt with Honey, Plump Juicy Raspberries, and Sliced Almonds and it is Breakfast Perfection.

    Have a happy day, Marilyn!

  14. Uh oh, I don't actually have tea but coffee with my ... cheese grits ... you're humming the theme song from "Deliverance" now, aren't you? But I drink tons of tea from about 11 a.m. on!

  15. Yummy croissant...I am jealous of your quiet morning...mine is generally crazy...especially with an 11 year old at the table...a boy that is! ha. One day, all too soon though, it will be quiet and I will have an opportunity to delight in my croissant with jam...in quietness...I will probably go crazy with it and need to go to the nut house! ha.
