My grandson sits with us at meals now when he comes to visit.
His parents are teaching him this song as the meal blessing.
I am touched that his mama is recalling a time as a child
when she learned this song at summer camp.
Little D just smiles when we hold hands
and sing at the beginning of the meal.
Click on the link and sing along.
For the Lord is good to us.
Thanks so much for this link! I will share it with my daughters. We learned it when I was a Brownie Girl Scout leader and sang it many times together as a family at the dinner table. Enjoy your grandson!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet blessing at mealtime and any other time! I can just visualize his little smile. One of these days he will start singing, too!

How precious Marilyn, I've never heard that song before, but will be teaching it to the nieces and nephews. You have a very special family.
ReplyDeleteAAAAh! Lovely. Little D already big enough to be sitting down for meals with his adoring grandparents....how fast they grow.
ReplyDeleteWe're on the first lag of the journey west - checked in at the airport hotel - light supper - early bedtime - alarm set for 3:15 AM to grab that early flight!
See you soon!
Hugs - Mary
I love this little song. How did I get to my mature age without ever hearing it? I will definitely be teaching it to my younger grandchildren. Thanks so much, Marilyn!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I have never heard this song before but I love it! Will be sharing it with others.
