Change in Direction

Do you ever find yourself traveling down the road
in your ordinary way and suddenly change direction?
Recently that is actually what I did.
Driving down the road, pulling off the freeway, instead of turning left
I turned right and headed back out of town.
It was a foggy day, a day that intrigued me.
I stopped along the way and watched the fields engulfed in fog.
It was a quiet day. The moment just grabbed me and said, take notice.
A tree was there to enchant me, standing as a sentinel in the morning light.
The grey day took on it's own beauty and I sat in JOY.
I surrendered to the PEACE.

  1. That's beautiful. Sometimes the road less traveled (or unexpectedly so) is exactly the one you are supposed to be on.

  3. The best days are when I've taken a different road. I've literally gotten myself lost before, just going where my heart took me. I love your photo in the fog Marilyn!

  4. I like routine, but sometimes it's good to do something out of the ordinary.
A lovely image of the tree and the mist.

  5. Beautiful reminder that variety is the spice of life and patterns weave a new avenue for us to embrace.

  6. Seriously, I don't do this enough. I need to take a moment, like you did after changing direction, to just sit and look. Good for you and really great photo.

  10. OK, now I just love this! I am such a creature of habit, and I can't imagine I would ever have thought to go a different direction in the fog (of all things!), but what a terrific and bold idea. Thank you!

P.S. That photo would make a great book cover for someone. Maybe a moody mystery, or some poetry, or ... well, I could think of lots of things!
