I made it! I arrived here with Delight!
The Stone House is tucked away in Portland's Forest Park.
When my children were young I remember hiking past it,
but it had been a very long time since visiting there.
A few days ago I mentioned it to my "live-in gardener", who likes
walking in the park.
We drove to the other side of the city, parked along the road,
and took a bit of a hike to once again find The Stone House.
Isn't it beautiful with all that moss and ferns growing on it?
I am not sure what it originally was used for, but I just loved the ruggedness of it.
If you had this place, could you live here?
You would be surrounded by amazing trees, a creek just down below,
and lots of visitors stopping by just to gaze at this Stone House.

That's an incredible gem! I can see why you wanted to make a point to get there and inside! Great shot of you, too!
I would love to live in a stone house tucked away in the woods, but with a welcoming drive way for guests and not too far from family. I don't want much, do I?
It's looks like it's out of a fairytale!
With a little (well actually very big) reno it would be a perfect getaway.
Like the pic the live-in gardener snapped! Give him my hug and tell him Bob says "hi".
Love, Mary
It looks like it is from a beautiful magical movie; very magical.
Blessings, Catherine
How lush and beautiful!
MAGICAL place... Oh, yes, I could live happily! ;o) ((HUGS))
What fun to return to the stone house and remember past times! It looks so solid, timeless and located in a wood makes it special.
Love the old stone house. Don't you wonder if it was ever lived in and by whom? The surroundings sounds so nice and peaceful!
Wonderful! I want to hike there --- right now! What a charming house!
I need directions to get there! What a beautiful place.

Now I just love the mossy look of this house -- I think I could live there!
