Hope in the Garden

You probably are saying, why is she showing us dirt.
It's not a pretty picture.
Venturing into the garden yesterday look what I found!
On Facebook I try to share a picture from my garden each day,
so I was looking for what was new this week.
There they are!
The beginning sprouts of crocus!
Can you believe it?
The middle of January and there they are.
I am more than excited.
Beauty and color will soon return to the garden.
Are you spotting signs of HOPE?

  1. Although it seems quite early for these little guys to be poking their heads above ground, it certainly is quite an exciting find! Alas, we have several weeks, even months, before this will happen here!

  2. I don't have crocus but I do see the narcissi shoots poking through. It's far too early and we haven't even had any snow yet. Personally I love winter, despite moaning about the cold as everyone seems to do here in the south - and I fear it's rubbed off on me! I can wait for those miserable hot, humid days - give me cool air and clear blue skies any day - oh but keep it above freezing please!

    Hugs - Mary

  3. Hope? Related to the weather? Here? I think not! Other than that they finally plowed my street. Not hopeful for the weather, but at least for not getting stuck weaving down the road!

I am more than envious of your croci!

  5. In my drought ravaged backyard, I saw iris shoots last week! I took a double take. Now if only my camellia would bud.

  6. Oh, there is MUCH beauty in this , Marilyn... it sure is HOPE captured in image! So lovely... We're a long way off any buds or blooms here, but it's been a mild-ish winter so far, so who knows?! Happy Days ((HUGS))

  7. Yes, the signs of new life in the garden are uplifting, although I think we shall have to go through some more cold, extreme weather where we live high up in the hills before Spring arrives. Glad you're a lot better. Have a good day, Marilyn.

  8. Hurrah! I always love your "spring is coming" photos. I believe I may have spotted some leaves of hyacinths coming up a week or two ago, but then we had a freeze and they withered ... don't know if that polished them off or not. Time will tell, I suppose!
