A younger me you ask.
Why here I am.
Innocence,
But open to a dare.
I loved to laugh.
A child of the out doors.
Yes, a younger me
With ponytail swinging.
Singing out loud
To my hearts delight.
There were dreams yet unknown.
A younger me
Who rode like the wind on her bicycle.
Who climbed trees to swing
With the sun and the stars.
Who flew off the garage roof
With a plane made of an apple box.
A younger me
Yes, that is me with still the heart of this child.
Sometimes a younger me is buried deep inside.
But that child still dreams and sings in her heart.
Off this weekend to find a peek at a dear younger me.
Happy weekend, dear friends!
I think you're still that person Marilyn.
ReplyDeleteYoung or old we still have dreams we wish to fulfill - I know I have!
Happy dreaming this week dear friend!

Love the poem and your photo. Oh how time does go by, enjoy your trip to find that place of the younger you.
ReplyDeleteOh Marilyn, I'm not sure which part of this post I love the most -- your wonderful photo -- so filled with the promise of future -- or your insightful and thoughtful poem. It's a toss up, for both are quite special and so genuine. Have a wonderful weekend finding your younger self again!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend finding your "younger you"!
ReplyDeleteI don't think we ever lose that younger person, but she gets lost sometimes. Enjoy your weekend finding her.
ReplyDeleteOh dear Marilyn:
ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet. I find we all change so much and at different time take on a different parent's characteristics. Thanks for sharing and linking.
What a sweet post! We mustn't forget that person inside. Love this!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful posting sweet friend

Lovely post!
ReplyDeleteLovely! I have a vision of the plane flying off the garage roof! My younger me jumped from the garage roof into a huge pile of leaves when we were done raking leaves. It was a reward full of laughter and joy! Such memories!
ReplyDeleteI love that our younger 'me' is still there no matter how many years have gone by. My younger me has a swing-y ponytail, too. And dreams and hopes of things yet undone. Many will never be accomplished - because I'm wiser now!
