Awesome Happy

Awesome Happy became the chant for each beach experience in Kauai.
Our little D just loved the water and digging in the sand.
When we would leave he would say, "awesome happy".
 Kalapaki Bay in Lihue
 Kalapaki Bay from the air.
Anini Beach was a bit rocky in places, but nice for snorkeling.
It was a great place for picnicking and easy access.
The water everywhere was so warm.
Pu'u Poa Beach
Queen's Bath where we had glimpses of sea turtles swimming in the waters.
Yes, there were many out there, they just didn't stay out of the water long enough to get a photo.

Waipa Beach at Hanalei

Kilauea Lighthouse
Pu'u Poa Beach just below the St. Regis Hyatt Resort in Princeville.
Beaches was one of the main things we went for and we weren't disappointed.
Even in the rain the warmth enveloped us with it's arms.

Tea Time on Kauai

Yes, this tea lady went to afternoon tea on Kauai.
The only tea experience I could find was at the St. Regis Hyatt hotel in Princeville, Kauai, HI.
The view sitting by the window was spectacular.
The presentation was lovely.
The savories were a grill squash and red pepper sandwich, curry chicken in a pastry shell, and smoked salmon with a very thin slice of cucumber, cream cheese and salmon row on top.
My tea was an English Breakfast tea.
Our table was covered with food, as there was also a plate with 3 scones and 2 sweet breads,
plus a small plate with 2 biscottis and 2 cookies.  With the scones there was also lemon curd,
raspberry jam, and marscapone.
Then there was dessert: pistachio and mango macarons, lemon tart, cream puff, chocolate tart, blueberry tart, and not sure what kind of tart with coconut.
There was so much we took a lot of the sweets back to our condo and everyone enjoyed in the evening.
Here is the very happy tea lady to have had afternoon tea in Hawaii.

I love being a tea lady on vacation and finding time for tea.

"Water, Water, Water"

Many chants of water, water, water were heard from the little guy in the car seat.
Almost everyday some time was spent there.
Each sight was more spectacular than the other.
So for today, this is a sight I saw.
Each turn in the road, more gorgeous!
I will be venturing home soon, but this will definitely be a delightful memory.
More beach stories and photos will be shared when I return.
And for tea, yes the trip even included tea.

Happy mid-week to you all.

Monday's Quotes

Oh precious Oo bird,
Your feathers are so beautiful
woven into a lei.
You sip lehua flowers
And call other birds.
~Emerson 1909

It isn't known what bird Emerson was referring to,
but we certainly are seeing plenty of the above.

Celebrating

The beaches are gorgeous!  Oh what fun to play.
Everywhere you look is lush and chickens.
At the luau on our 50th.

Colors of Nature

Red Crested Cardinals everywhere, along with many chickens and roosters.
Flowers everywhere.
Gorgeousness prevails.

Today is our 50th and we are celebrating with a special cup of tea,
splashing in the water, and a luau.

Paradise

The view from my window this morning.
Sitting with a lovely cup of tea and little D.
What could be better?
