Lily and her family started celebrating Christmas by having tea in my home each year since Lily was 4 years old. She is 11 years old now. She is the guest of honor. We have missed two years during the years. Her family (all 8 of them) enjoy coming to have tea with me. The theme is a secret until they arrive. I think this year was a hit with Lily and her brother, Henry. It was the Magic of Christmas. Can you tell? The bunny, dove, and crystal ball sitting in the hat with cards and of course the crooked, festive candles. There were magic wands for Lily and Henry and magic candles on the cake served at the end of the tea.
There were Lucky Star Black Olive Sandwiches
Cranberry Stars
Cranberry Stars
Domino Ham Sandwiches (Nancy Reppert's recipe) and King Neptune's Moon Shrimp Sandwiches
There were also Cream Scones with jam and cream.
Magic Wand Cheesesticks
Chocolate Cake Surprise, which was a warm chocolate cake served with homemade vanilla ice cream.
The warm tea served was Ti Kuan Yin Oolong and for dessert we had a Witches Brew, which was a herbal berry tea with mineral water served cold. The Witches Brew was a very pretty red color and added to the festive feel of the day.

Christmas Traditions are special and this is one I look forward to each year.

Yummmm. Looks luscious. And what a delightful tradition for your granddaughter to treasure and perhaps pass on to her own children.
Lily is the daughter of a former work friend. No granddaughters or grandsons in my family. I can only wish and take substitutes.
What a magical day for Lily, her family and for you! I loved the theme and the names you chose for foods. Everything looked just spectacular, Marilyn.
What a wonderful tea! You picked a great theme and followed it perfectly. I had to giggle at the crooked candles. I'm sure Lily had a lovely time.
