One Love

This week my heart has been heavy.
The hurt and despair in Haiti is almost to much to imagine.
My heart has sung at the sight of so many people
that have pitched in to rescue, help, and bring food.

It causes me to think of all those around us that need
our love and help.
Why are we not helping those around us that don't
have health care?
Why are we killing in other countries when
we should be finding other ways of settling disputes?

What is it that makes us rescue, but still kill and cause hurt?

I have thought about God being a God of Love
and Compassion, but we don't listen and follow his lead.

My heart sometimes is heavy.

We are complicated creatures, Marilyn, capable of terrible acts against our fellow man. We are also capable of great sacrifice to help others. We are fortunately to always have God's love even when we are at our worst.

Hugs,
Annie

Haiti has been on my mind all week as well. Two of my friends are sending their daughters to help. They are in their early-twenties and it is a matter of faith to send them off to a place that could have dangers for them. I am overwhelmed by the willingness of people to help during a time such as this.

Precious thoughts.......

Perhaps those that kill and steal and destroy have never experienced Love in any true form. That's a sad thought too.

We ask for Your Mercy and Grace to hover over this world of ours..... may those who have been touched by Your Love make it their mission to bring touches of heaven on earth everywhere they go.

The greatest thing we can do is pray and help in any way.

Thanks for your visits and your love.
Keep calm and have a cupcake.
Love you

Marilyn - this is such a kind and loving post. Thank you. And I often feel similarly. More love to you, too!

BTW - I will know for certain about my move in 2 weeks.

Your feelings resonate so much, Marilyn... I've been feeling the same way for days now. My heart breaks over Haiti and her people. I have so many questions sometimes, and then at other moment I try to still my mind and come back to the LOVE. I try to keep my meditation on love, compassion and hope. :o)

It is overwhelming to watch the TV coverage while we sit in our comfortable, clean homes, isn't it? I've prayed, I've given money, but it still doesn't seem nearly enough! (Although I will keep doing both, but I think you know what I mean.)

It is heartbreaking to witness all that has gone on. You are so right about the need to listen and follow His lead.
