Law of Fair Exchange
I met a stranger in the night
Whose lamp had ceased to shine;
I paused and let him light
His lamp from mine.
A tempest sprang up later on
And blew the world about;
And when the wind was gone,
My light was out.
Then back again the stranger came;
His light was glowing fine.
He held again the precious flame
And lighted mine.

What do these words mean to you?
To me it means that we need to be there for each
other through the rough times when
the world blows about.
Take care, dear friends, and be there for
someone today.

That's what it says to me as well. That sometimes we need a helping hand; and at other times we are the helping hand.

It means we have to show compassion and help each other.
Reading this late at night after a busy day away. It's amazing how much meaning this has now because I was there for someone even though I didn't know how much my being there and the kind words I said meant to her until an email after she got home. These are words to remember every day - be there for someone! ~Adrienne~
I agree....we always just need to be there for others, without asking any questions....
You are so right, without compassionate friends we'd all be like the lamp in the wind. How sad to live without the light of kindness.
Blessings for all you share

....give and you shall receive. It's all about sharing what you have with others less fortunate perhaps..........not just material things but guidance, insight, advice and of course love.
I enjoyed looking around your blog today. The poem in your latest post is lovely.
I was scrolling down and looking through your posts and saw something about how you love glass and you had some photos of some lovely bowls.
Funny, but I have a picture of a bowl like that in one of my posts! If you're interested, the link is
