Spirit Whispers

Recently I came across the following poem on another blog and felt it was appropriate to share for Spirit Whispers.  I have just past my 800th post here at Delights of the Heart.  This is the last day for Spirit Whispers as a regular Monday series.  I can promise you it may pop up from time to time, just not in a series.  In celebration I thought it was time for a give away.  I have a small book of poems by Maya Angelou, a small bag of tea from Thailand, and probably another trinket or two I would love to send to someone.  Leave a comment on this post and I will announce the winner on Friday.

Your Seed Pouch
Lanterns
Hang from the night sky
So that your eye might draw
One more image of love upon your silk canvas
Before sleep.
Words from Him have reached you
And tilled a golden field inside.
When all your desires are distilled
You will cast just two votes:
To love more,
And be happy.
Take the sounds from the mouth-flute of Hafiz
And mix them into your seed pouch.
And when the Moon says,
“It is time to
Plant,”
Why not dance,
Dance and
Sing?
~ Hafiz

Can't you just imagine Dancing and Singing among these trees heavy with fruit.
They are ready for the harvest.
Go out, loving more and being happy!

Your picture of the fruit orchard brings back memories of final summer canning for the winter's table. But that was long ago!

I love it when fall starts to peak around the corner. I love the combination of colors in the photo...golden hills, green trees laden with fruit and golden plants in front...yes, I see fall....

Hi Marilyn,

WOW! 800 blog posts is a huge accomplishment! You have inspired so many of us with your Spirit Whispers series! I'm sure the whispers will continue as you blog your next 800 posts!

There is nothing more beautiful than dancing around in the middle of God's harvest! It reminds me of the movie "The Sound of Music".

Blessings, Darlene

Congratulations - I'm almost certain I've read all 800 posts - and of course enjoyed each one. You are an inspiration and have become a friend through your 'whispers', both soft and loud! Thanks Marilyn for all the beauty you've added to my life.

As for the poem - one of the loveliest I've read - it brings to mind watching the Tuscan farmers ploughing and planting on the hillsides by the light of the moon. Funny how just a few special words can bring back a memory.

Hugs -Mary

September always strikes me as that "golden field," a pause before true autumn since September carries hints of summer days as well as the autumn that is to come. To me it's a restful month since we are poised to enter autumn (which I do love) but still have September to spend like a bit of "extra cash." All of the glorious color is still ahead though we have the odd branches of color here and there.

Angelica had me singing and 'dancing' to the Beach Boys yesterday in the car as we ran errands. It was fun to be young with her!
