Reading?

Why I don't mention books here, I don't know.
They are a big part of my life.
I love books!
I can't sleep at night if I haven't read a page or two (when really tired)
or many chapters (when captured by the story).
Do you love books?
Do you read with a book in hand or a reading device?
Which do you prefer?
But most of all what are you enjoying these days?
I picked up an oldie recently and enjoying Fried Green Tomatoes by Fannie Flagg.
Wasn't sure I would enjoy it, but I am.
Take a book to bed tonight and enjoy!

I wish Fannie Flagg would get a new book out. I have read all of her books.

One of my favorites, her writing style is so unique. I have to reread it every few years.

Hi Marilyn!
I love to read a real book. I love turning the pages, the smell, the feel of the paper. To me it's as much about the book itself as it is the story. I've started reading the Tales From the Grace Chapel Inn series by Guideposts. Really good novels.

I've always loved reading and I love books! Like with textiles, I most enjoy a book that I can touch and feel. I have capabilities for using my electronic device and have tried it --- but don't enjoy that method of reading much at all.

Oh golly, much of my life seems to center around books, which I am always reading—and writing! Just finished reading an interesting book set in turn-of-the-century Apalachicola, Fla. called "Man in the Blue Moon." Have since started reading the third "cozy" mystery in the Queen Bee series. (I am trying my hand at writing a cozy, so I try to read lots of other cozies to get a better feel for the genre.) And like you, I can't go to sleep without reading something!

I always have a book going and it's the rare night that I don't go to bed and read for a few minutes.

Give me books over Kindle/Nook anyday. I DO read books on my phone (the freebie downloads) when I don't have anything else with me but that's the only time I read electronically. LOVE my books.

These days I read books on my iPad, except for tea books.

I am a lifelong book reader too, Marilyn, and am happy that my love of books has passed down to at least a few of my children and grandchildren.

I just finished reading 'The Agony of the Leaves' by Helen Gustafson. An 'older' tea book, it immediately became one of my tea book favourites.

I am currently reading a very unique tearoom guide book that I will be reviewing on my blog soon.

btw the images in this post are beautiful!

Hope you have a beautiful day. x

I belong to a home based book group so refreshments and books feature when we get together. I've been enjoying non fiction books these last few months with lots of photographs included.

Oh, how fun. I was just on my library website the other day getting the same book. I thought it was about time for me to read it.

You did not see it when you were here, Marilyn, but the DH and I have a library upstairs filled with books. We have an assortment of titles, but at least one large bookshelf is filled with cookbooks and novels that are food related or have recipes, such as the books by Ruth Reichl, Tender at the Bone and Garlic and Sapphires. Lots of tea books too!!!

My current read is The Book of Unholy Mischief, a story about an orphan boy who served as an apprentice to the doge's chef in Venice in 1498, the dawn of the Renaissance. Found it at the Dollar Store and am loving the imagery and the story.

Love to read, have a tablet, but still prefer a "real book".

Lovely photos of your beatiful books.

I can't say that I'm an avid reader, but I love my tea books and cookbooks. [I read cookbooks like others read novels.] I enjoy biographies too. Presently I've almost finished Anne of Green Gables [better late than never!] for my daughter's upcoming annual birthday tea with the theme of kindred spirits.

I'm reading a book by New Yorker writer Adam Gopnik about his five years living in paris -- Paris to the Moon. It's wonderful so far! Must take on Truth and Beauty for book club next!
