Mellow Down in My Soul

Recently while listening to music I heard these words,
"Mellow Down in My Soul".
At first I thought they were singing mellow down to my toes.
What exactly does that mean?
Here is the list of "Mellow Down in My Soul" for me.
1. Warm drinks on a cold winter day,
especially if they have a Christmas tree Peep residing there.
2. A delicious cup of tea, my favorite right now is from
teasource.com, Thurbo Muscatel, Darjeeling 2nd Flush.
3. Stepping into a warm shower and just standing there letting
the warmth envelop me.
4. Peeks of sunshine through the clouds on a rainy day.
5. A really good book to read while sitting in a comfy chair by the fire.
6. Holding my grandson as he sleeps, having him wake and give me a smile.
7. A note from someone I haven't heard from in awhile,
even if it is an email just to say Hello.
8. Christmas music
9. Someone to brush my hair.
Have you tried this? It feels so good.
10. Walking on the beach on a windy day.

What makes you feel mellow down in your soul?
or clear to your toes?

What a sweet and thoughtful post Marilyn. I love your picks, especially number 6!

That tea sounds awesome - you are the expert so I know what you pick to sip and then enjoy must be wonderful. I'll be buying tea in England - mainly Empress Grey which I love and can't find here.

Bob was able to work around the rains there last week - his Portland group were rather dour he said. perhaps people don't want to be trained when more exciting things such as Christmas shopping and celebrating is available, ha! ha! Now he's in Dallas this week - don't know how he does it all!

Something special making me 'mellow down in my soul'? Right now I'll have to say most of my thoughts are with the upcoming trip home:

1. Knowing dear family and friends will be waiting at the other side of the pond next week - and right now it's bitterly cold there!
2. Sharing a traditional English Christmas dinner (at 1 PM) with loved ones, looking out across the bay as we toast to life and good health - then listening to The Queen's annual message on TV at 3 PM
3. Going to the pub, sitting by the roaring fire and having a sherry before lunch while people watching...........and hearing the Devon dialect which I used to have!
4. Waking in the early morning and sipping a cup of English Breakfast while watching the fishing boats bring in their catch
5. Breathing in the air, the sights, the sounds, everything that means home to me

Life is good and I am thankful for so much.

Have a fabulous week dear friend - hope it dries up and you enjoy some sunshiny days.

Hugs - Mary

Holding my granddaughter does it for me, too, as well as being with my other family members. And friends. Special times with friends. Peace and quiet after a busy day. I love the phrase and will try my best to remember it!

Your list is similar to mine. I love having someone brush my hair! I would add listening to Christmas music wirh just the tree lights on.

Freshly laundered sheets at night and a good new book to curl up with. Ahhh!

I just recently read the same book. It seemed to call for a cup of tea while reading it. Your list is pretty much like mine..I never thought of Christmas Peeps in a cup of hot chocolate.

Enjoying all your Christmas photos and thoughts.

Trimming the tree with my son and his family is a special time for me.

Oh, this was sweet, Marilyn! Someone to brush my hair... Don't thinks I've had that since I was small child with long hair, and my Mom would brush my hair before school. Nice memory. Mellow down in my soul today is some time to paint in my studio. It's terribly cold outdoors. So nice to be snug indoors, a pot of tea, and my paints. :o) Happy Day ((HUGS))

What a good feeling and saying! Right now "Mellow down in my soul" means cuddling with Sweet Lizzie Cosette! For as long as she'll let me!
