A long quote today, but one I think of as we begin September.
It's actually a song. Enjoy! Happy September~
September Morn
Written by: neil diamond and gilbert becaud
Stay for just a while
Stay, and let me look at you
It’s been so long, I hardly knew you
Standing in the door
Stay with me a while
I only want to talk to you
We’ve traveled halfway ’round the world
To find ourselves again
September morn
We danced until the night became a brand new day
Two lovers playing scenes from some romantic play
September morning still can make me feel this way
Look at what you’ve done
Why, you’ve become a grown-up girl
I still can hear you cryin’
In the corner of your room
And look how far we’ve come
So far from where we used to be
But not so far that we’ve forgotten
How it was before
September morn
Do you remember how we danced that night away
Two lovers playing scenes from some romantic play
September morning still can make me feel this way
Stay for just a while
Stay, and let me look at you
It’s been so long, I hardly knew you
Standing in the door
Stay with me a while
I only want to talk to you
We’ve traveled halfway ’round the world
To find ourselves again
September morn
We danced until the night became a brand new day
Two lovers playing scenes from some romantic play
September morning still can make me feel this way
Look at what you’ve done
Why, you’ve become a grown-up girl
I still can hear you cryin’
In the corner of your room
And look how far we’ve come
So far from where we used to be
But not so far that we’ve forgotten
How it was before
September morn
Do you remember how we danced that night away
Two lovers playing scenes from some romantic play
September morning still can make me feel this way
Happy September morning to you, Marilyn!
ReplyDeleteAs my mom would say...they don't write lyrics like that anymore.... I love the anticipation of fall...colorful chrysanthemums and cool breezes and crisp mornings...
ReplyDeleteHi - beautiful pictures, great song!
ReplyDeleteHappy September..
Love Gail
peace....
Lovely photos and I've always loved that song. Happy September.
ReplyDeleteHi Marilyn! I think this is my my first visit here?
ReplyDeleteI love Neil Diamond. My brother just asked me yesterday what my favorite concert was, and I named him. This song has such a quiet, wistful feel. Just like fall!
So nice to see you today! Happy Labor Day!

Love that pic of the birdie on the fading sunflower - bet he stopped by for a few seeds!
ReplyDeleteI need to pick up some pots of mums soon - waiting for the heat to drop a bit!

Happy September, my friend. Love the photos and the 'feel' of Fall they bring.
ReplyDelete~Adrienne~
I love the beautiful displays of chrysanthmum in the stores right now. All those wonderful colors are the sign that fall is around the corner, my favorite time of year.
ReplyDeleteHow perfect -- and I especially love the way the light plays into these photos!
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect-- but I'm so not ready for a September morn -- they may be here, but I'm not ready!
ReplyDeleteThat top image absolutely thrills my heart.
