Little Red Riding Hood and Tea

Recently I felt like Little Red Riding Hood as off
to visit my aunt in the care facility.
She hasn't felt very well lately and I wanted to cheer her
with a basket of tea, a piece of chocolate, and a cookie.
I thought others of you might like the idea.
She wasn't able to drink the tea, she did enjoy sucking
on a sliver of chocolate as I sipped tea.
She asked me to wash her face and the warm
tea water was perfect for a face washing.
Such a simple gesture, but one that delights someone in need.

All you need is a basket, a thermos of warm water,
cups, teapot, napkins, tea, and a goodie or two.
The teapot isn't necessary if carrying teabags,
but have some way to dispose the teabag after it is steeped.

I would love to hear if this inspires even one of you
to do a simple gesture of taking tea to someone in need of a visit.

My friend and I often visit ladies in a nursing home. They are very frail and one is blind and although they're unable to take tea as you suggest (which is a thoughtful and loving thing to do) they enjoy receiving visitors.

What a wonderful way to care for your dear aunt! Our older ladies need such love and that's exactly what you did for her that day. I know she appreciate everything you did for her.

It is a wonderful idea and I love that you are doing this. I think there is nothing so kind as to wash someone's face. It's such a tender gesture of love and compassion. I love this idea. I think it is one I may need to do.

Dear Little Red Riding Hood,
What a kind gesture you made to make your aunt's life a little sweeter. I am sure she loved it and will remember it. The idea of a traveling basket of tea is just wonderful~something to recall when someone else needs that bit of love and attention.
You are a good woman.
Best, Ruthie
