Tea Time at Fly Awake Tea Garden

The late summer sunlight glistened through the trees.
Sunday afternoon tea time at Fly Awake Tea Garden.
Kevin sharing with the group stories of the three teas we would be sipping.
Darjeeling, Assam, and a China Black tea were all consumed.
We were encouraged to bring our own cup to show and sip from.
Mine is from the gift shop at Kensington Palace in London.
To nibble with our tea we had fresh made crumpets
with homemade marmalade.

If you find yourself in Portland, Oregon,
for a unique tea experience of sipping tea in the garden, visit:
Fly Awake Tea Garden
3514 NE 13th Ave.
They have a chai happy hour on Fridays from 3-7
and open late night music on Saturday's.

I love your Kensington Palace cup! Teacups would be a fun thing to collect when traveling!

I love that idea for a get together with tea drinkers! Bringing your own tea cup and saucer along is a great idea - bet your Kensington Palace china was the prettiest!

Freshly-made crumpets and homemade marmalade - perfect with afternoon tea on a cool day. What a treat I missed - glad YOU made it though!

Hugs - Mary

What an intriguing idea for a tea room! I'd LOVE to enjoy tea outdoors like that (have just ordered a great new book on this very topic, ha!). And I love your teacup -- that shape is just lovely, and I'll bet it holds lots of tea!

Quite a different experience for tea to have it outdoors and bring your own teacup to tell about. I'll bet there were envious participants of your teacup being from Kensington Palace.
