Just yesterday the sun in my neighborhood looked like this.
There was still smoke and ash in the air
from forest fires nearby.
In the garden there is ash on the leaves.
It feels like it did when Mt. St. Helens erupted years ago.
There is a stillness in the air,
a smell of smoke,
and a sprinkling of ash.
So sad to know that just nearby there is destruction to our scenic highway.
I pray that homes can be saved and people can once again be safe.
I pray for those on the east coast that they will be able to return to their
homes safely and their homes will be intact.
I pray for recovery in the south from the deluge of water.
And I pray for all those hurting, terrified, and in jeopardy around the
world that they will be comforted and held in the arms of those
that can give comfort.
During these times of upheaval I once again pray with
the song, Let there be peace on Earth and May it begin with Me.

The fires have been so dreadful. Light ash has fallen here, too, and the sun yesterday was orangey-brown and very obscure. I'm praying for rain, lots and lots of rain.
So much seems off-kilter with the world these days, and not least the weather! Heartily joining along with you in prayer, Marilyn... "Let there be peace on Earth and May it begin with Me..." Those are some of the most inspiring words of prayer...May all be safe, all creatures great and small, all trees, all living things...((HUGS))
Marilyn -- this just breaks my heart. May you get our cool weather and rain, loads of rain. Our whole ecosystem is having a very PMS month or two. Sending hugs, and sending prayers.
Marilyn, I have to tell you this song is a beautiful one and very special to me. I've loved it for about 37 years. That's so scary about the fires happening, and some of my blog friends have mentioned that there is the smell of smoke in the mountains where they live. So sorry you're experiencing that as well. The water fall is lovely, and glad they're fighting to save it. Have a pleasant weekend, Marilyn.

Those beautiful falls bring memories again of our time with you and J. Hoping things are cooling off where the fires are concerned. Meanwhile here the thoughts of the lovely 'sunshine state' being devastated tomorrow is certainly on our minds. If we're not hit it will be such a huge blessing.
What is the world coming to?

My heart breaks for all the destruction and devastation our country is experiencing at this time. Both man made and natural.
