I once heard a little girl ask someone wearing a tutu,
"Are you the fairy?"
Just that has stuck with me ever since.
What is our image of a fairy?
Is it the fairy godmother who waves her wand and makes
wishes come true?
Is it the fairies that dance in the moonlight,
in the forest fairy rings?
Or is it just someone that secretly is there for you,
who has your back even if you don't know it?
Fairies create magic.
They dance!
They laugh or sing softly!
They sing even when our heart is broken!
Do you hear them singing with the waves of a tree branch?
Do you see them dancing with the flicker of your eyes?
Or are they surrounding you, helping you to see the magic?
Notice what you notice!
Capture the imagination and keep the fairies close!
A day early, but wishing you a Happy Weekend, dear friends!
See you back here on Monday!
Sending Love and Fairies to surround you!

What a fun post, Marilyn! Years ago, when my nephew (now 40-something) saw a Fairy Godmother cheerfully swinging her wand around, he looked up at her and asked, "Are you gonna turn me into something?". We still chuckle over that story! And another fairy story... at our Fairy Festival, a mother was taking her daughter home after a long day. Obviously the little girl didn't want to leave. So the mother picked her up, and held her over her shoulder while the little girl, with out stretched arms pleaded, "but I'm a fairy". It was such a cute exchange. She wanted to stay with 'her people'!
"Are you the fairy?"
How precious...
I see faeries when I see fireflies. :-) And that kind of faerie is always nice. As are all the usual illustrations of faeries. And one would expect them, to bring magic and delight...
But, having read a lot, of and on faeries, I fear the usual depiction and view of them, is not so true.
Many of the fey, I've read about, are not to be trusted. Hmmmmm.... Uniquely beautiful yes. But, not necessarily gentle and bringing delight. ,-)
And that is why, when I am reading about them, I wear the necklace my husband made for me. An old iron nail, on a chain. Iron = Safety from the fey!!!!
Well, one can never be too safe...

Oh Marilyn, I've always loved fairies, and I want to make a fairy garden for my granddaughters. This picture of the big pink ball of fluff is so pretty. To me, fairies are enchanting and lovely, but they can be a bit mysterious too. And Yes, they dance and sing and comfort and love. What a beautiful post. Have a very nice weekend, Marilyn. I will be back to posting soon. Stop by and say hello. : )

What beautiful and lovely thoughts and so well stated! I know that fireflies are fairies. They come out at night. I know this. Because -- well, why not! When we're asleep they dress in their fairy clothes and make magic!
Hi, Marilyn! So great to catch up with you here! With hubby TJ having some time off in recent days, our days and schedule are all over the place, but in a great way! We're enjoying a little staycation with some fun at home and a bit of out & about. But my online time is a lot less at the moment... LOL! LOVE all the frills and magic of this post--sooo beautiful! I've always loved the ideas of fairies. And usually my connection to them is outdoors and nature-related. I like Fairy Festivals, but haven't been to one in many years, and you don't seem such things much here. We need more fairy enchantment, don't we?! :) Happy Days ((HUGS))
