When my son was a young child he called eyelids doors. The more I have thought about that concept over the years I have realized he was so right. Eyelids do act as doors, opening to amazing sights and taking in the world around us, both the beautiful and the ugly. Can we filter what comes in? Guide our children to see the beauty? Close the eyelids when necessary? Or do we leave them wide open?
What is behind closed doors?
Their are doors of perception. Do we unlock our doors or keep them locked?
Doors come in many colors and shapes.

Out of the mouths of babes, eh? This is very thought-provoking!
"Notice what you notice today." That is marvelous advice. I will. Thank you.
Excellent post! Our senses are the windows to our soul. They must be guarded with care, as what comes in creates who we are.

I love this post Marilyn, it makes me smile, and want to go outside to see what the world has to offer today. Thanks for the eye opener!
This is a wonderful post. Eyelid doors. So very wise and true!
Awwww, someone else to appreciates taking photos of doors and windows. At this moment I am remembering a fun afternoon of taking photos of doors and windows at Faraway Ranch in the desert of SE Arizona. Old, quaint, and picturesque --- doors and windows say alot about the era in which they were produced.
