A Singing Heart

A Singing Heart

I woke up this morning
To a singing start;
I went about the live-long day,
A song within my heart.
"Sing before your breakfast;
Cry before you sleep,"
Is an old, old saying,
But never one I keep.

I sing, and I go dancing,
With music in my tread,
Until at length I've sung myself
To supper and to bed.

Picture is morning tea looking out on the water.
A perfect setting to have tea.

I don't agree with "Sing before your breakfast;
Cry before you sleep," either but it is a lovely verse. Tea over looking the water would make anyone sing.

I've never heard that saying before but upon reflection, I get it's meaning.

That is a nice poem and I do like to sing, but only when nobody can hear me.

Great silhouettes of your teapot and cup in the photo. What a gorgeous view for morning tea!

I'm not a morning person at all!! So I doubt you could get me to sing before breakfast! LOL! I don't start functioning till at least after 10 a.m.! Ha-ha!

Yes, my husband is retired, he has a part-time job teaching at the college here, but doesn't work during the summer, he'll start in a few weeks!

I usually have coffee in the morning - but always stop for tea at 4 PM. I'm not much of a singer - right now I'm sipping coffee and listening to the twittering of the birds visiting the front porch, that's sweet music to my sleepy ears!

Have a great day dear.
