The annual event has come once again.
Lily's Holiday Tea
Each year I choose a different theme. This year it was Take JOY, a Tasha Tudor Old Fashioned Christmas Tea.
Lily and her family started coming for tea when Lily was 4 years old
and now she is as tall as I am and 13 years old.
The menu:
Pumpkin Moonshine Soup
Stuffed Eggs
Tasha's Garden Sandwich
ChickaHominy Sandwich
Hot Cheese Rounds
Goat Cheese Tarts
Tea: Tasha Tudor Welsh Tea
Scones with jam and cream
Gingerbread Doves and Corgi Dogs too
English Toffee Bars
Mincemeat Cookie Tarts
Dundee Cake
Tea: Oolong tea
I reproduced the best I could a table setting from one of Tasha's books and had doves hanging above the table.
The dollhouse, which I will show another day, was decorated and ready for the celebration.
Several of the recipes came from the Tasha Tudor cookbook.
There were stories of Tasha to share and her special Welsh Tea
to drink. There were new guests to celebrate, as Lily's grandmother had recently gotten married and her aunt brought along her partner. Ten in all sat around the table celebrating
the holiday's together as a family.
It was a day of Delight!

Oh, how lovely it all looks. I am sick today and any one of those trays of delectables with a pot of tea would be welcomed at my bedside.

Happy times, Marilyn. I love reading about your Christmas teas. I find that at Christmas time, there are certain annual posts that I always look forward to seeing. Your Lily tea is one of them.
Marilyn, everything is so beautiful...when I looked at the pictures, before I even read the notes...I thought, "Wow, it looks like Tasha's style for decor!" You did an excellent job. I wish I could have partaken in your special day...I am smiling with "joy" for you today...it is so wonderful and has left such happy thoughts for years to come to those lucky people who were able to attend!! Thanks for sharing...Blessings always, Donna
Everything looked wonderful. I love mincemeat tarts and Dundee cake. What a great tea theme.
Such a charming idea. I watched the Take Joy and Take peace videos during Thanksgiving. Tasha was a wonder, wasn't she? Because of her, my love of corgis began. Tea, gardens, a simple but very full and complete life...what we all dream of, right? Beauty all around.
You really do the most lovely things. I adore your passion for living and loving. You inspire me.
oh, i so want to come, to one of these. that is so sweet she has been coming there, for all these years.

tasha tudor, so glad you went with this, because i remember you speaking so fondly of her, while we were at the coffee shop. i miss you!
