The seasons in the garden enchant me, they delight me.
Springtime shares surprises and excitement as
the daisy's bloom along the walk to the entrance of my home.
Soon they are taken over in this very spot by the Black Eyed Susan.
Summer is in full bloom.
Fall has arrived and the birds delight in the seeds from the same flowers.
Oh the beauty of each season makes me happy.
Then winter comes and again there is a show to see.
In my garden this very morning,
the very same spot by the entrance to my home.
How I love the seasons of the garden.
Each season has a gift to share.
Beauty is all around us, if only we notice what we notice.
Look and See
This morning, at waterside, a sparrow flew
to a water rock and landed, by error, on the back
of an eider duck; lightly it fluttered off, amused.
The duck, too, was not provoked, but, you might say, was
laughing.
This afternoon a gull sailing over
our house was casually scratching
its stomach of white feathers with one
pink foot as it flew.
Oh Lord, how shining and festive is your gift to us,
if we only look, and see.

I love how you look for each season's beauty!
How interesting to see your garden through all the seasons.
Good morning Marilyn. Being observant of small details in our surroundings and appreciating the little incidents that bring joy into our life each day is indeed a gift. Today I drew the curtains back from the living room window and saw a robin on the neighbour's fence and I'm anticipating further visits. Thank you for visiting me at my blog and I hope the snow melts soon and you can get out and buy a bunch of flowers to bring you delight.
I saw those flowers and thought "Marilyn is pulling through the archives!" This is a fun post, partly to see the garden, partly to see your snow. It's a lovely photo and good poem for the day!
Beauty through the year! Love the snow on the stems. I enjoyed watching the birds on my crepe myrtles which were covered with white fluffy snowballs.
Dear Marilyn, as I grow older I appreciate the change of seasons more and more.
Although in Auckland we don't get snow, we occasionally have frosts which result in the most perfect days with clear azure blue skies.
Beautiful seasonal photos of your garden today!
Shane
