Do you consider yourself an artist?
What does it take to be an artist?
I always wanted to be an artist,
but it is a hard thing to call myself.
Right now my art is through the eye of the camera.
Sometimes with a little embellishment.
No, I am not Georgia O'Keeffe, but I can dream and enjoy her art.
I can play in the garden and create little touches of JOY.
Or play in the studio (gardenhouse).
Do you dream of being an artist?
Dreaming and appreciating others talents is also a gift.
Did I say "gift"?
Yes, we each have our gift of creativity.
We can appreciate the gift of God in nature.
Maybe it is the special touches we make to a meal
or the gift of friendship to someone in need.
Little touches of art and creativity sing to my heart.
So happy International Artist Day to each of you.
Go out and enjoy art in your soul and all around you.
You might not be able to tell, but each of the photographs
has been changed in slight ways, except for the one
of Georgia O'Keeffe.

DOn't sell yourself short, my friend. When you can do photos like this, you ARE an artist. And your medium, photography.
Yes, I think Photographers are artists. That peanut pumpkin is interesting, and I love love the angel with the pumpkins. Your tea pictures are always delightful too. Do you know what else is artistic.....your words. Bet ya didn't know that. ; )

I think everyone has some artist in them - the desire to create, to mold something in the world to reflect one's personality - it might be through cooking, or painting, woodworking or mechanics, but working with one's hands most often results in art. Yet we are all so hesitant about it. I wonder why?
Hi, Marilyn! Sooo GOOD to catch up with you! We've been back from our trip for a few days. Really struggling with jet lag and post-travel getting back on track, but getting there! For a long time I've had trouble seeing myself as an artist too, and all that that means. God is the real, big artist, and He works through me...so maybe that makes me an artist too. But He gets all the credit, really. ;) Such GORGEOUS photos of yours here, Marilyn... each one inspiring... THANK YOU! ((HUGS))
But you were a designer in your former career Marilyn, surely your artistic qualities were a major part of your life then! Now your lovely photos brighten up your always beautiful words. . . . . . . . .definitely the work of an artist!.
Hugs - Mary
