My Neighborhood

Loved this reminder just the other day.
Some days it just needs to hit you in the face,
be front and center, a reminder for the heart.
My neighborhood has a plethora of reminders
and delights for the eyes.
It is eclectic and amusing,
a place where we can dance in the street
and find oh so good food.
One day there is a vegan bakery and the next day
it is The Sugar Cube, full of delights and butter.
Yet just next door the vegan restaurant sits in great success.

If you ever visit my city, Portland of the West,
be sure to let me know.
I would love walking with you here.

Lower photo is lunch at The Sugar Cube with a delightful
quiche, shortbread cookie, and kombucha to drink.

Have a wonderful weekend, dear friends!

I really loved this posting and thanks for reminding me to keep my chin up. 2013 has been one of the most stressful years of my life for many reasons. We all need positive words, love and aspiration that there is hope and love and light at the end of very very very dark days.
Love Jeanne

Oh, I'd like to join you any time! Isn't it wonderful to have a neighborhood where you can 'dance in the streets' and love the restaurants? I have a great neighborhood, but it's not that good!

We have friends in Portland and know it has wonderful things to offer. I'd love to try your recipe too. Glad you had success with your wreath! I'll be showing one I made with thicker paper too. I think Bible pages would be perfect too! I just wasn't sure everybody would think so! Haha!

LOVE that mural! I want to paint one on a wall here at home. ;o) A few tough days at the moment, so this really lifted! The Sugar Cube... fun name for a cafe. I wish I wasn't so far away--would love tea & a chat with you, Marilyn! Happy Week ((HUGS))

I loved your neighborhood when we visited - so much going on and some quirky things to enjoy - but the gardens, such as yours, were delightful too.

Nice graffiti and the area seems like a great place to stroll, shop and eat!
