Housekeeping

Walking in my yard this week I noticed one of our bird houses.
The nest inside has been pulled on and tugged at.
It is looking rather messy.
Squirrels had been nesting in it and had made the opening
large enough to enter.
Now the bird's are taking it back and cleaning house.
They have been pulling and tugging the old nest
and using the old nest to make a new nest in a nearby tree.
Isn't it interesting how nature recyles, makes something new,
and takes the time in Spring for a spring cleaning.
I think I could learn something from those birds nearby,
it's time for a spring cleaning and making something new from the old.
So this week I will be cleaning and making my nest refreshed.
I can't wait.
Do you set aside time for refreshing and a spring cleaning each year?

It's great to watch the birds do their spring cleaning. I especially love watching how the wrens select their bird house each spring. Just wish it would start warming up some more! Nice post!

Yes, I completely do. I just need a bit more push from the warmth of the sunshine and then I will be throwing open the windows and dusting the nest clear of all the winter leftovers!

That is a pretty crafty squirrel... recycling a nest is very clever!

Oh yeah, tearing nests up around here too, and kicking up dust. We're as bad as the birds.

You know, I usually get the cleaning fever just after the new year. I'm not sure why. I've been dealing with all mom's STUFF lately. I am determined to not have so much and keep my belongings to be only what I love or find useful. Well...it's a lofty goal.

Darling I do spring cleaning twice a year. At springtime and right before the holidays, may be I should call it holiday cleaning. I clean inside and out, up and down and all around. It normally takes me 3 to 4 full days, but the end results are sooooo rewarding. I did mine about three weeks ago. I am all ready for spring. Now if only the weather will cooperate with my spring plans!!

Refreshing and cleaning here too! Every year I do a big clean in the house in the spring and later in the autumn as the holidays near. I'm just getting over a cold, so have decided to wait on the big spring clean until after Easter--I can't wait to get started! :o) Happy Day, Marilyn ((HUGS))

I don't set aside a particular time, I just do it when it hits me. This year, it hit during spring break. Thank goodness. That was timely.
