Paris, Oh how I love Thee!

Arriving in Paris on a rainy day we decided to go for a walk
in the neighborhood.  How I love St. Sulpice, so there was a
stop for a peaceful visit there.  I love walking in Paris.
Our hotel was in the Saint Germaine district and a delight to walk through.
This was my third time to this boutique hotel and I just love staying there.
If you ever visit Paris, I can highly recommend Hotel de Seine.
Just down the street is Paul's, so an afternoon cup of tea
and some quiche made my tummy happy.
The agenda for the first full day in Paris was Montmarte
and again walking there.
Arriving at Sacre Coeur at the top of the hill, it will filled with people.
I have never seen it without many people milling around.
On this particular day there was a street market.
We found this character just waiting for us.
He brought back memories of our last trip when we
traveled to the south of France and enjoyed sampling
sweet honey and pate.  Oh the fond memories of that trip came tumbling back.

Montmarte really means artists.
and just milling about, taking in the ambiance of the day.
Tip:  a backpack is truly a lifesaver for day adventures.  Hi, my little red pack!
A stop at the Musee de Montmartre was one of the highlights
of the trip.  I truly loved seeing the vineyard.
It is such a part of the history of this region of Montmarte.
And though it was an overcast day, the view was a delight.
I have always been fascinated by this time period of art
and just loved savoring each art piece.
 An artist's studio.

One more glimpse of the view from the top of the hill
before venturing on.  Lots of walking, but oh just JOY.

Oh how I love Paris!

Enjoyed visiting Paris through your eyes. I haven't been there in a long time - but do remember fondly the time I spent in Paris.

Your post is bringing back lovely memories of my time in Montmartre but we didn't get to the museum. I'm reading a biography of Suzanne Valadon right now and know we passed her house more than once, and in fact, on the side of the building it says that she lived where the Musee is. So next time...

San Sulpice is beautiful and I'm remembering your hotel!

I would have loved to see the inside of your room at the hotel. I'm fascinated by all European hotel/b&b rooms and restrooms.

Thank you for letting me tag along. These are some of the best visits - no laundry when I return home.
Sips and Smiles,
