Garden Quotes 2019

Two roses from the garden, tended by my "live-in gardener"
who is also called "the rose guy".
 The Gardener

Have I lived enough?
Have I loved enough?
Have I considered Right Action enough,
have I come to any conclusion?
Have I experienced happiness with
 sufficient gratitude?
Have I endured loneliness with grace?

I say this, or perhaps I'm just thinking it.
Actually, I probably think too much.

Then I step out into the garden,
where the gardener, who is said to be a
 simple man,
is tending his children, the roses.

~Mary Oliver

Love Mary Oliver and often refer to her poems.

aaahhh, the red rose made my heart sing, Marilyn. And your quotes are just marvelous every time. Love this one especially cause it's about the roses. Thank you for lifting me up every time I visit, Marilyn.

I also love Mary Oliver. She has a way of asking pointed questions that get right to the heart of things. Lovely roses, even now!

Glad your charming 'live-in gardener' is still growing such beautiful roes.
That is a very special poem - Mary always managed to 'hit the nail on the head' when it came to thinking - I too feel I often over think things. . . . . . it might just be my downfall when it comes to simplifying life!

Mary Oliver always nails it. Your gardener's roses are gorgeous. I love that you have your greenhouse.

Your live-in gardener is quite a treasure, and I suspect you are well aware of this. :)
