Smiling down on Me

Tall
Yellow
Brown Eyes
Large and Lovely

I must admit to a love affair.
A love affair with these gorgeous golden petals.
This time of year they make my heart patter.
They shine with the sun.
Oh, Sunflowers!
You make my heart sing with Delight!
What brings delight to your heart today?

Oh! That is a big Grandaddy sized sunflower!! :-)

The sun is shining, the sky is blue, I've heard from both of my children today... Everything is good here. (small things make me happy.)

Even though it's so rainy today, one of my favorite yearly sites appeared. Each year after harvest, the tractors start plowing under the fields. Seagulls from the lake find their way to the fields to follow and partake of earths goodness. Awesome!

Ah, that flower as a rival for you affections! I, too, am a sunflower fan and this is indeed a perfect one!

I only had one as big as this in the garden - and when I returned from Calif. I was so mad because something had bitten off - and probably eaten - the flower bud, all remaining was a stem and leaves, about 7 feet tall!

You are really dwarfed by these babies Marilyn - are they in YOUR garden? Memories of Provence for sure.

Hugs - Mary

My goodness, that's the biggest sunflower I've ever seen! Glad you were photographed with it to put the size in perspective. W-O-W!

That first picture brings delight to my heart today. So does

a new school year
the sounds outside coming in through now-open windows
buying pretty new sofa pillows
the nuzzle of our dogs
the moon last night
