Green Tea - Teavivre.com

The flower, an iris, just because it is beautiful.
We do need some eye candy in our lives; so this is for you.
When asked to sample and evaluate green tea recently, I wasn't so sure.
I am not a huge green tea fan, but after sampling the following 5 greens from Teavivre.com
I realized it was because I really had not tasted good green tea.
Throwing caution to the wind I said 'yes' and here are the results:

For all of them I found they were less grassy/vegetable than I had tasted before.
I think that is why I haven't liked greens.
I did like them all and found just small nuances between them.
Some had long, flat needles of tea and others were a little shorter and crinkled,
but all the needles were beautiful and opened into lovely leaves when steeped.
They were all steeped at 185 degrees, which worked very well for these beautiful leaves.
Nonpareil Te Gong - Huang Shen Mao Feng: not as much complexity as the others, smooth like bamboo.
Premium Grade Dragonwell - Long Jing: a light sweetness to the back throat.
Organic Superfine Dragonwell - Long Jing: reminded me of a taste of summer's sweetness.
Xin Yang Mao Jian: was my favorite with a slight smokiness to the back upper mouth.
Bi Luo Chun - Pi Lo Chun: straight forward, simple green tea with a nice after taste of sweetness.

I would highly recommend these green teas from Teavivre.com.
I am learning to like a good cup of green tea with these samples.

Happy Weekend, dear friends!
Take time for a delightful cup of green tea.

I had green tea for the first time last month when I was in Seattle. My daughter made me a cup when I wasn't feeling well....it was so enjoyable. I need some in my pantry!

I always enjoy green tea served by my Chinese and Japanese friends - so authentic and refreshing. I didn't realise there were so many varieties.

Oh boy! I just got some green tea samples from them as well, and after reading your review I can't wait to try them! (Plus, all the great health news about green tea makes me want to focus on drinking more of them each day.)
