Strong Women - Katherine Hepburn

This is not the typical picture of Katherine Hepburn, but
when I saw this picture I thought it so well exemplifies who she was.
What I would want to take from observing her life.
She was willing to be herself and try new things,
living life on her own terms.

This is what I see in the Strong Women that I have portrayed the past few months.
Soon I will bring this series to an end.
Katherine Hepburn was one of the first ones I put on my list.
Who would be one of the first ones you would put on your list?

What a great photo! I would never think of her on a skateboard. I love strong women...those who fight to live a life authentically. How about Rosa Parks...I think she qualifies!

Oh, I LOVE that photo! She had such spunk... I always admired her strong character. Maya Angelou would be on my list. :o) Happy Week, Marilyn ((HUGS))

My mother is at the top of my list.
Virtually unknown to everyone except her family and a few close friends, she overcame an awful childhood to become a wonderful mother and grandmother.
Patient, kind and wise, but also very private. She looked like Katherine Hepburn.
I miss her tremendously, but carry her spirit with me always.

My grandmother. Her husband died leaving her with a large family and she didn't even know how to drive. She learned to drive, went to work, and managed to be a role model for me.

I love that photo of Katherine. For some reason, I was always drawn to her...I kind of "I love you, but what are you thinking relationship." I enjoyed this post.

That IS a great shot of Katherine Hepburn.

Marvelous woman. I almost named Krista after her. No matter though. Krista lives up to her not namesake's name even without the name. Some things are destined.

I just had a quick tour through all your strong women posts. You've assembled a formidable list here, Marilyn. This Hepburn brings to mind the other one, Audrey. I admire how she managed to stand up to the glare of the Hollywood lights and star-making machinery and still lead a relatively private life with purpose. Her work with Unicef later in her life is admirable and made a difference to the world.

She was certainly a strong and independent individual........a great actress too!

My mother was the same type of woman, but never an actress, just a down to earth, say what she felt no matter whom it might upset, and so capable in everything she turned her hand to. If I could only emulate her more - I miss her so much and hope I live past 90 as she did!
