The Dollhouse Project

Each month this year I have committed to making a house with The Dollhouse Project.
You can find the link to my right side bar.
I missed last month because of travel and sickness.
I knew one month I wanted to go play in my friends glass studio;
so this was the month to play.  Often when I go to play I have a general plan
and just start picking up pieces of glass to see where it takes me.
Here is where it took me for my June house of glass.
It is a sun catcher of fused glass.
I am not sure if it will hang outside or in a window, but I kind of like where the glass took me.
Do you ever do a project not knowing exactly where it will end up?
Are you usually pleased or want to start over?

Several have asked what I found tea related at the 7/11.
It was two face masks in Earl Grey Tea and Macaron scents.
I have heard they are quite nice, but haven't tried one yet.

Marilyn, the doll house sun-catcher is adorable! You are so talented! How did you create the birds and butterfly? They are so defined compared to the more blurry edges of some of the pieces. Lovely!

An Earl Grey & a Macaron "mask" sounds heavenly!

The birds and butterflies were made by punching with a paper punch a piece of copper foil then placing the shape between the two pieces of glass.

Well, that's cool! I never think to play with glass. I love the colors -- so springy.. Some lucky doll would love it!

This is adorable.......I could move right in and be as happy as can be!!!!

Hope it will stay hanging in your window and that the sun shines many days brightening up the room.

Hugs -Mary

Marilyn~ I LOVE this house!!! What a creative interpretation of the project. You inspire me to no end.

It reminds me of the white washed houses I saw in northern Germany with the thatched roofs.

So, will the next one be tinged with a spark for your recent travels???

Did I already say I love this one? :)

xo, Graciel

I love this! I so hope I get the opportunity to work with glass one day. And I don't always know where my art projects will take me, but I usually find the process is more important to me than the outcome, and I always enjoy the process!
