It is big! I have no idea what type...some type of moth larva would be my guess.

I searched the internet and couldn't find it. I'm sure it's a moth though. Nice post Marilyn.
According to all the pics I've seen, it's a Luna Moth. But then it's said their habitat is in the north eastern states. We have luna's here in the mid west, so I'm stumped!

Only caterpillar I recognize on sight is from the Monarch butterfly, and this is certainly not one of those. It is quite pretty though.
I don't know, but I sure do love it. I picture it as a butterfly all orange and chartreuse. Just beautiful.
