Nibble on Cookies

Recuperating from neck surgery since the end of December has given
me time to think and just be.
Normally this is not who I am.
I am fairly independent.
I haven't been given permission from the doctor to drive yet
and this is beginning to really bug me.
I don't like having to depend on others to drive me where I want to go
and then wait for their schedule to do so.
Soon, very soon I must regain my sanity and independence.
So in the meantime, I am sitting here sipping tea and nibbling on cookies.
Not having ventured out much I just am beginning to realize Valentines
is coming next week. And next week I will celebrate healing with a drive in my car.
Think I will go to the chocolate shop.
Care to join me?
Oh, but you would have to come here.

I can imagine that is so frustrating, Marilyn. I rather like being home but I know that should I want to leave easily, I can. Not so easy for you.

Are you still feeling much pain? I sure hope things have eased up, sleeping is better. And I wondered -- did you make those cute cut-out cookies (what I'm mostly wondering was what it was like to roll out dough cookie thin with neck issues.)

Tea and chocolates sound delicious, a combo that is not new to me. :-)
You've inspired 'on my walk' FB posts each morning since there are so many different things to see. I have been enjoying the flowers from your garden.

Dearest, I know how frustrating it has been - losing one's independence while recuperating from a surgery is something I'm also scared about! I'm thrilled you are doing better now and will soon be back driving etc. Celebrating with chocolate sounds perfect. . . . . . go for it, best quality, prettiest pieces, expense not important (excellent chocolate is not cheap!).

I'll know more tomorrow after I visit the neurosurgeon for the second opinion!

Love to you and J.

Getting frustrated is a sign of healing, I think. It means you are feeling well enough but still need to follow doctor's orders. It makes a pleasant picture to think of you sipping tea and nibbling cookies.

I don't drive as much as I used to since we came to a very hilly area to retire, but it's good to know that it's possible to do so. Healing is a slow process especially when mobility is involved. I hope that you'll soon be driving again when the time is right. (Our daughter went back to work yesterday after her fall and recovery from broken ribs, but only after doctor's advice). Have a lovely weekend Marilyn.

Those heart biscuits look delicious. I usually get public transport everywhere, but I suppose that isn't a good idea with your neck! Heal quickly!

Big healing hugs and soon you will be out driving and free to go.

What a pretty tea-scene... love the early Valentine touch! It much be hard with the cooped-up feeling... But glad you are finding quiet moments and truly savoring them. Life is busy enough--we need all the quiet moments we can get. ;o) My Mom sent me a recipe for red velvet brownies... thinking that might be the Valentine treat here this year. Happy Day ((HUGS))

So glad you are healing and will soon be back to driving and everything else you want to do. In the meantime, enjoy your time for reflection and especially time for tea and cookies.
