Meeting in the Tea-cup

"When will the West understand,
or try to understand, the East?
Strangely enough, humanity has so far met in the tea-cup.
It is the only Asiatic ceremonial which
commands universal esteem."

~Okahura Kakuzo (1862-1913)
The Book of Tea

So join me in a teacup.
I just wanted to say I have noticed new followers recently.
Thanks for following along with me at Delights of the Heart.

All I know is I enjoy a cuppa Earl Grey on a wet cold afternoon and some Chamomile when I need to relax of an evening! {{smiles}}

I recently pulled out this book again. It's so full of quotes! Does your version have his bio? He was an interesting man.

I like the ideograms that look like a man's face on the tea-pot!

At long last, I am back, Marilyn. After four days in Oregon, two days at home and five days for the Arizona trip, I'm beat. New lesson - I ain't no spring chicken no more. Back to back traveling is exhausting. Your image here and the soft earth-tone colors are so calming; the fragrance of the tea steam, intoxicating.

Most things can be resolved over a cup of tea.

Yesterday I met a dear friend for tea - she's a true tea lady and sells teas and accoutrements so knows a lot about tea and its special ceremonies, as do you. I ordered African Nectar which I found delicious and reminded me of 'bush tea' I sipped in Botswana.

I'll be sipping good English teas (altho' of course they come from other countries) on home turf soon! Hopefully some Devon cream and scones too! guess I must get out and walk off a few pounds before then, sigh!!

Happy weekend dear friend.

I like your photo.

I got The Book of Tea on my Kindle for free at Amazon. It is amazing how many books you can find that cost nothing.

What a great quote! And The Book of Tea should be a must-read for all. ;o) In my cup this afternoon is a calming infusion by Twining of nettle and sweet fennel... So nice to catch up with you here, Marilyn, after taking a tiny break to see to some things here at home. Happy Week ((HUGS))
