Watching

Silently my toes tap on the bare floor.
Quietly I stand watching through the window pane.
What is out there on this cold Autumn Day?
Have the hummingbirds returned?
I stand a sentinel always on alert.
Waiting, just knowing soon you will return.
In the meantime, as my side kick sips her tea,
I wait with a twitch of a whisker and a tail
 for that special sighting
that will bring me JOY.

Notice what you notice.
Take time to see the small things that bring JOY.
Happy Weekend, dear friends!

Cats are so much fun! My cats love to birdwatch and squirrel watch out the windows, too. And heaven forbid that any neighbor cat should wander into the yard. But their favorite thing is watching for DH to come home from work. (you'd think they were dogs.) When they charge downstairs and start meowing at the kitchen door I know they have spotted his car coming down the road. Before too long I hear the garage door open and his car pull in. What smart kitties they are.

I love the twitch in his tail! Too cute, and a beautiful sentiment to go with it.

Joey is very tall photographed this way.........and definitely most handsome!

Hummers all gone from here but today the bluebirds - at least 3 - are on my birdhouse going in and out the openings - goodness only knows what they are up to. Perhaps the brilliant sunshine and warm temps. have brought them out to play.

Happy weekend Marilyn. Off shortly to the annual lovely Christmas Candlelight Tea at the local Moravian Church. Jasmin will be singing there with her HS chorus - that will make it even more special for us.

Joey... so sweet! And this is such a lovely reminder for now--this busiest time of year--to take time to look, to notice all the small joys happening now. Thank you, Marilyn :o) Lovely to catch up with you after returning from some travels and Thanksgiving break! Happy Week ((HUGS))
