Charitea's and a Give Away

On a sunshiny, clear day recently a friend and I decided
to take a drive to Sandy, Oregon.
The view of Mt. Hood was spectacular.
The goal was tea at Charitea's,
but the added pleasure was a visit over tea
 and the sunshine country drive.
The afternoon tea included a whole croissant cut in half.
Half was a cucumber sandwich and the other a chicken salad sandwich.
Both were delicious!
Then a lovely scone with cream.
For dessert was a matcha creme brulee with strawberries
tucked inside.
I enjoyed a Red Robe Oolong tea.
The gift shop was fun to browse.
There was wonderful teaware, tea, vintage style aprons,
and even local honey.  All the things to make a tea lover's
heart flutter.
If you ever find yourself driving to or from Mt. Hood,
definitely stop along the main road at Charitea's for a cup of tea
or afternoon tea.

Another thing any tea lover would love are books about tea.
This year from my own private collection I will from time to time
be giving away some of my tea books.
Don't worry, I will still have enough to read for a very long time.
Celebrating the first day of March and Springtime,
I am giving away these two books.
Leave a comment on this post and make sure I have a way
to notify you and I will draw a name on Friday.
Let me know if you would like both or just one of the books.
Look forward to hearing from you.

I have driven by the Charitea's but haven't been blessed by a tea experience there. It looks like a lovely place!

I have the tea and etiquette book, but would be interested in being in the drawing for the ALICE book.

Thank you!

This is so sweet of you! I have the Alice book, but not the Tea and Etiquette book! If I win, I'd be glad to pass along the one I already have to someone else. :-)

We are planning a 51st anniversary trip to the northwestern point of the continental USA next year. I hope our route takes us close to Chariteas. Thank you for this giveaway. I, too, would be interested in having "Taking Tea With Alice". 💗

I spent the evening last night reading your delightful blog. I too am a tea lover and a fancier of Alice in Wonderland. Thanks for giving me a relaxing evening while sipping lapsang souchang (spelling?).

That's a stunning view of Mt Hood at the end of the street! Your visit to Charitea's looks lovely, and reminds me of tea at the White Heather here with you.
I don't have either book, and they both look interesting.

What a fabulous day, Marilyn. A beautiful sunny drive, good talking with a friend (and that spectacular view of Mt. Hood isn't bad either!). Then a fabulous lunch/tea! I can't think of anything nicer.

I would love to be entered into your drawing for either book. Could come in handy when Barb and I have our next make-and-take tea!

Dear Marilyn:
What a darling idea this tea room had in a "Leap Year Tea" even if it was truly an Afternoon Tea. I love making things special and fun. Fun is important - right! I have both of these books and am glad to see Bruce Richardson printing the Alice book and keeping it going!
