France Delights my Heart

All in a day in Paris, France.
A dream came true!
Walking the streets of Paris is at the top of my list.
Memories of that day shared here just for you.
Come along with me and dream a bit.
The first stop was walking into one of my
favorite museums, the Cluny Museum.
I just love the doorways in France.
Then we would walk through the gardens of Luxembourg.
And maybe make a wish at the fountain in the park.
Continue on past the pond where we would pause to watch the people
walking by or seeing a child floating a boat in the pond.
This is the perfect place to sit and nibble on a picnic lunch.
Surprised as we come upon a collection of bee hives in the park.
Honey is still collected here.
But we are continuing to walk because that is
what you do in Paris.
We are on a goal.
We will join a small group and explore chocolate in Paris.

We meet the chocolatier at this shop.
But along the way there is a most famous bread shop too.
Poilane has been in Paris for many generations.
Ahhhhh, the smells!

Spoons for stirring your chocolate are actually cookies.
How could such a cookie be sooo good.
There is a line into Pierre Herme's shop.
So let's join in.
Finally we enter through the door.
No pictures allowed, but a few quick ones taken.
More boldly I get in snapping away.
They are all works of art.
Too beautiful to eat? No/Yes?
Ohhh, how can I resist a macaron when  in Paris?
I hold it in my hand.
Such beauty in a bite.
I know you see the reflection of the street, but look beyond to
another pastry and chocolate shop.
Be still my heart.
The beauty and creations of the pastry artists is delightful.
Was he just a little unhappy that I was snapping away.
I can't help it, sir!
These are truly works of art.

More macarons!
Marshmallows too!

And the beauty of chocolate and pastries goes on and on
when you are in Paris, France.

I love Paris!
I love their chocolates and pastries!
How I wish I were right now, but memories through pictures bring
back the memories.

“For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go.
I travel for travel’s sake.
The great affair is to move.”

The month of July will have several posts on France,
one of my most favorite places to visit.
I have traveled four times to this beautiful city
and would go back in a heartbeat.

A fun post!!!!

In 1999, my husband "gave me" a week in Paris, for our 40th Wedding Anniversary. We actually stayed 8 days.

I net-knew a young man there, and he critiqued our hotel arrangements. So we got a better one, for walking to and from.

He joined us 3 times, to show me 'the real Paris,' which he knew I wanted to see.

We also met with another net-know woman in Paris. So we got a hands-on treatment... with out paying tourist fees. :-)

It was lovely. Even the weather cooperated.

But we would never go again. Too much to fear. The fear, being way to random. But that's us.

Will it cool down a bit, by Friday, for Chelsea's wedding, do you think??????? Will her cold be better? :-))))))))

And what of her wedding gown???? I have asked and asked and gotten no reply, which I have seen. Have I missed it? Have you seen any updates on Chelsea's dress? I have to feel that her dress, is more important, than Corey's. On which we have gotten updates.

And no, I don't have FB so I won't be watching it "live." :-)

You've captured so many of my favourite reasons to love Paris there! Gerard Mulot makes my favourite macarons I think.

You have captured quite a few of my favorite walking spots in Paris. Isn't it wonderful how patisserie shops are everywhere? You pictured the internationally known favorites but the little neighborhood ones often have just as beautiful a selection, in my experience.

One more thing: if you walk from the area of Poilâne's famous bakery on Rue du Cherche Midi towards the Luxembourg Gardens, you can swing past Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas's apartment (which has a commemorative sign on it). That's always fun.
