Tea Time in Wisconsin

You don't think I would miss an opportunity to have tea while in Wisconsin, do you?
Really I was there for my nephews wedding, but there was still time for tea.
Christina told me that everyone visiting Milwaukee wanted to have tea at Watts' Tea Shop;
so off I went to find it in downtown Milwaukee.
I stepped into the door and was amazed at the assortment of china, crystal, and home decorator ornaments.
It had the feel of an old, very nice department store with tons of beautiful things.
But where was the tea shop, I wanted to know?
It was up the elevator to the second floor where there were more beautiful things to see and then the tea shop.
Even the tea shop was reminiscent of an older era of department store "ladies that lunch" tea room.
I arrived early and they were not serving afternoon tea yet; so I enjoyed there Watts' tuna melt on their own English muffins.  For tea I selected their chai tea with milk.  The tea and sandwich were quite tasty and enjoyed by me.  Another tea shop to visit if you are ever in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Afternoon tea is served at 2PM.

What a wonderful tearoom! If I'm ever in that area I'll be sure to stop for tea. We are heading to Tillamook tomorrow afternoon for our annual reunion with my sweetheart's siblings. Last year the girls didn't want to have tea at the tearoom - this year I'm going. Even if I have to go alone! My sweetheart said he would go with me and that would be very special. If you and I ever get those teeny, little trailers we dream of that could be one of our stops on a coastal excursion!

What a lovely experience. The room reminds me of the old tea room in the downtown Meier & Frank Store in downtown Portland. My grandmother used to take me there on special occasions.

That looks like a lovely tearoom - nice photos. I like the interesting old building and always enjoy a well stocked gift shop.

Your lunch plate looked delicious.

Lovely post --- and I totally LOVE the first picture here. Blue always speaks to me. I remember the lady's lunch room at The Bon Marche --- which was only in operation in our town when I was a small child. I'd peek in the door as we passed by and I'd admire the chic dress of the ladies enjoying their lunch inside. Nice memories.

Do you remember the lunch bar at PayLess Drugstore? Not so fancy, but their absence is another sign of changing times.

Aha! Next time we visit the sis in law in nearby Germantown, *I* have a place to go to while everyone else goes to the brewery. :)
