Last Rose of Summer
Sometimes a sigh is just a sigh
I will miss you little roses
Sigh of missing
Snow is on the ground
A different kind of beauty
Oh beauty of the day
I will notice today what I notice
and feel JOY in the noticing.
Oh how lovely this day is a rose. Please pray for continuing peace between North and South Korea and all over the world. You can imagine how worried I am with today's news.
That is a lovely photo. Your roses must have been spectacular at their peak. You've made me wonder if I will see any snow this winter, but more importantly, to notice the beauty of the day.
We must be thinking on the save wavelength. I don't know if I'll get it posted, but just a couple weeks ago, I took a photo of my last rose of summer, too.
Many things bring great delight to me: tea, gardens, flowers, outdoors, food, and friends that cross my path. These all make my heart sing with small chuckles, giggles, laughter, and tears. It is my desire to seek beauty all around me.

I look at the last rose and always marvel at their strength, their determination, their beauty.
I kind of want to be them - though I do like lasting through winter!
Happy Happy Thanksgiving to you, Marilyn!
this is such a beautiful photo!! i have to say, it's one of my favorite photos, of yours.
xoxo
Reminds me of that beautiful old English song 'The Last Rose of Summer' I sang it at school and now have it on C.D, I hope you know it.
Nice picture. I actually have a bud on my azalea bush! It will get zapped tonight though. I did get a picture of it.

Such beauty - all there for the right eyes to see it.

That is exactly the word I've been looking for when I see a rose struggling into the winter - a sigh. Beautifully put.
