Nine Lives

Recently I shared my story with a reader here.
Yes, I am a wife, a mom of 2 grown children, and grammie to one little guy.
After helping my husband finish school and having my children in school                    I returned to school at 40, receiving my degree at 42 in apparel design.
At 60 I started Marmalady's and retired at 65 from the apparel world.
But do I rest now?  I don't think it is in me to rest.
I often think I would like to be a "cat" with 9 lives.
My list is long of the things yet to come.
Oh the places I would like to go and things I would like to do.

This week I took my 93 year old aunt to see her new apartment.
She loved seeing it so she could dream of how she would decorate it.
Still she has things to do and dreams to come true.

Do you dream of places to go and things to do?
Happy weekend, dear friends!
May your dreams all come true..................

The photo is of Joey laying next to the metal box I recently found at a junk sale.

Yes! I just had a dream come true. I will be putting art and decor creations in a local design store. So excited!

Joey looks very fine next to the green box. :-) I do wish I could retire now so that I could spend more of my time doing the things I really love. I have big plans.
:-) There won't be any sitting around until I'm physically unable to move anymore.

Oh yes, I dreamed of those Golden Days when my hubby and I would retire and of all the places we'd go and things we'd do. Well we have been retired for a few years now and I am thankful for what we have done and do but it isn't at all what I dreamed of, but still dreaming.

Oh, that 9 lives idea, is delightful. Especially when one gets older, and realizes that a full life, no longer stretches ahead, each day. :-)

Yes, planing and anticipation... Great for our well-being... Best wishes to your Dear Aunt! 93 and dreaming of how she will decorate her new apartment! What an inspiration she must be!

Please wish her well, from me.

Oh... LOVE the photo of Joey! So nice to see him, it's been a while! Sweet about your aunt and her new apartment and the excitement of that. I hope to be like that--always excited about things! I don't think I'm the kind that will stop either. I don't think we're meant to--we're meant to keep going, keep growing, etc. Oh, yes, I have more than a lifetime's worth of ideas to work on, places I'd love to see, things to do, etc. One life doesn't feel enough sometimes. But lately I'm loving now the most, and gently allowing space for the dreams and places to present themselves. :o) Happy Week, Marilyn ((HUGS))

A JOEY SIGHTING! I love photos of Joey so much -- for lots of reasons; he's adorable and also, as you know, he is a reminder of Gyppy. I've missed seeing him.

I love hearing about your aunt -- good for her, being excited and moving on. She sounds pretty amazing. Sometimes we don't realize till they're gone, so I'm glad you've been able to spend time with her.

Dreaming of another visit to Italy and new towns and gardens to visit there. However, content to be enjoying the moment with family in England, enjoying the sunshine and trips nearer home. I did a lot of travelling in Europe when I was studying as a mature student (with a young family) and now rest on the wonderful memories of those times.

Oh, Marilyn, I'm so very happy to hear you were trying something new at 60, as I hope that will be me! I've wondered (but not too much!) if 50 is too late to re-invent myself, but then I got to the point where I said you know, I'll never know unless I try. LOVE that your aunt at 93 is still interested in decorating her new home!
