Evening Light

Picture taken last week in Pt. Townsend, Washington.
Children playing near the water and on the bridge trucks and cars waiting for the ferry.
It was a beautiful evening and I once again BELIEVE the creator was an artist.

Hush of the Evening Light
The bewitching hour
Gathering in the last light of the day
Soon closing the curtains against the winter cold
Celebrating the closing of another day
Whether the sun is rising or the sun is setting
Soak in the colors of the light and may it warm your soul.

So lovely. I'm more inspired than ever now to travel and visit Port Townsend. I had a friend who went up there every year to play in their music festival. He made the place sound so magical. Alas, he is long dead now and I still think of his sudden passing with sadness. Port Townsend and Dave will always be intertwined in my memory.

I love Port Townsend...a 45 minute drive for us and one of the places we go for a day out close to home. Some wonderful restaurants & fun shops. I love watching the ferry to Whidbey Island plying it's way across the bay. Perfect poem for the photo. Thanks!

Oh my, another cover photo! (Sooooo wish you lived here in Georgia -- I'd hire you in a heartbeat!)

And on a totally unrelated note ... I just remembered you had asked about my electric water kettle. The one I bought does *not* feature different temperature settings, and that was my choice. There are lots of them where you can indeed program different settings, but I was aiming for "simple" with this first one! If I want green tea, for instance, I just let the water cool a few minutes first. I love it!
