Sophistication and Style
When Jackie was ten years old she wrote a poem titled "Sea Joy."
When I go down by the sandy shore
I can think of nothing I want more
Than to live by the booming blue sea
As the seagulls flutter round about me
I can run about when the tide is out
With the wind and the sand and the sea all about
And the seagulls are swirling and diving for fish.
Oh – to live by the sea is my only wish.

There is a fun read out there titled: What Would Jackie Do?
It is about her fashion sense and how we can adopt some of her style for ourselves.
There is so very much to admire about this First Lady! And I don't know that we'll ever see another with such "Jackie style" again!
It's amazing...her style is timeless. She is still so beautiful and it just seems so effortless! I love Jackie O!
Thanks for the link to Jackie's biography. She really was a strong and remarkable woman.
I have always had the deepest admiration for that beautiful lady. The poem, for a 10 y/o is outstanding. But then, her childhood education was extraordinary.
I have so much admiration for her, thanks for this tribute!
One of my favorite parenting moments came after we visited JFK's birthplace (which is in our town). My daughter E thought it was cool, but then said she wanted to see Jackie's birth place! And she hasn't given up yet!
Happy week to you dear Marilyn:o) Jackie is certainly one beautiful woman. I have always admired her great sense of style, so graceful, so beautiful, always perfect.
Smiles....

One of my all time most favorite women! She put up with a lot, and with such grace. What a pretty poem.
I love Jackie! I was in awe of her when she was the First Lady. She always carried herself with such grace and poise...her sense of style was superb!
Gosh Marilyn I finally have taken a moment to check my blog and jump over here to see you. Thank-you for the lovely post. You are such a sweetheart. I had more of that delicious jam this morning. Sleep tight and don't let the mosquitoes bite in that garden shed.
Extraordinary poem for a ten year old, thank you for sharing it!
I've wondered more than one if he would have been so popular if she hadn't been so lovely.
