White Flowers

White flowers remind me of brides, wedding dresses full of froth, and cakes standing tall.
Daisies have a sweet tenderness of a blushing, innocent bride.

Ahhh, the fragrance permeates the day with smiles and joy.

The bouquet delights the eye.

The flowers are like icing on the cake.
Sweet is the day of white flowers cascading down and petals raining from above.

Do you love flowers?
What color is your favorite?
They make my heart sing to see all the colors of the rainbow,
but white just reminds me of a special time.

Playing with Friends

What's better on a hot summer day than meeting
a friend at a cool fountain.

Cooling off and playing with Ramona, Ribsy, and Henry Huggins,
Beverly Cleary characters in the fountain nearby.

Yes, I met a special friend at the fountain.

And we did play in our own sort of way.

Another blog friend came for a visit and it was a delight.
This is Relyn from Come Sit by My Fire.
If you don't know her, stop by and say hello.

The Light Dances for Me

Multnomah Falls, Oregon
The light was here just dancing for me.

It delights me as it shines on the flowers.
It comes twinkling through the trees.

It surprises me.

It just makes my world shine.

Oh yes, the light dances for me and makes my hearts sing.

This year as I take pictures I am trying to be more aware of the light.
When I notice, it makes my heart happy.
What is making you happy today?

Monday's Quote

The tea ceremony is more than an idealization
of the form of drinking--
it is a religion of the art of life.

Step through the Rabbit Hole

"Alice falls down the rabbit hole and her dress poofs up like a parachute."
"Well, after this I should think nothing of falling down stairs."

Step through the Rabbit Hole and into the Garden House.
"Doorknob:  Read the directions and directly you will be directed in the right direction."

"Yes, that's it!  Said the Hatter with a sigh, it's always tea time."

Cookies and Strawberry Cordial, oh my!
Tea times are the best of times!

Come in and play, sip a cup of tea!

Take a peek, delights are here.

Take more goodies, please.
There are Caramel Nut Bars here
lollipops and gumballs too.

Cakes and Shimmering Jello, please partake!

"Daisy: What kind of a garden do you come from?"
"Alice: Oh, I don't come from any garden."
"Daisy, Do you suppose she's a wildflower?"

Yummmmmm!

"Take some more tea," the March Hare said to Alice, very earnestly.
"I've had nothing yet,"  Alice replied in an offended tone. "so I can't take more."
"You mean you can't take less," said the Hatter: "it's very easy to take more than nothing."
"Nobody asked your opinion." said Alice."

"I can't go back to yesterday, because I was a different person then."
~Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

Today is just for delight and whimsy!
I am playing with my friend Vanessa at A Fanciful Twist

Frayed along the Edges

When I saw this rose I thought of beauty.
Not the sort of beauty of perfection,
but the beauty of a life well lived.
There is a softness not seen by perfection.
It is touched by the sun and a time well spent.
It shines in it's beauty,
yet frayed around the edges.
It shows it's dignity and still it shines.
I am so glad I noticed this rose
for it signifies to me that we can still shine in beauty
for a life well spent.

Note:  I don't usually post on the weekend, but tomorrow there will be an extra post.
Come by for a visit with your cup of tea in hand.

Summer Daze

Summer daze are a time to play.
Run through the sprinkler, get all wet.
Laze in a hammock, take a nap.
Drink liquids, iced tea is the best.
Slurp plenty of snow cones, striped in multitudes of colors.
Move slowly and enjoy, savor each day.
Soon the sun will go behind the clouds
and it will be time for school and work.

Enjoy summer daze, savor and delight!
What can you add to the list of the delights of summer?
