In the Moment

This week I have been thinking about being in the moment.
I am most often thinking now what next,
or I must get done everything on my list.
Getting dressed and brushing my teeth takes
too much time; so I am working in my robe.
I wait until the very last minute to rush to the bathroom.
When I am in a meeting or taking a class I am
checking the clock to see when it will be over; so I
can go onto the next thing.
Now I am not sure anyone out there is like this, but
my guess is I am not the only one.
I need to pay attention, notice what I notice, and learn
to be in the moment.  When I do take a breath and
pay attention to the very moment I am in, I feel more JOY.
I also function better and have more fun.
Take time this week to notice and enjoy each moment.

The tulips were a great example to me.
My husband brought them to me yesterday and
I had to pause and just enjoy them at that very moment.

Staying grounded in the present is one of the secrets of a happy life. But it is a challenge at times. I hope this day is a happy one.

I relate, I do the same thing. My head is way too busy. Im trying to correct that

This is such a challenge for so many people- I think we just race through life, and at the end we'll be saying, wait, that's it?

I love the idea of mindfulness and to be present right here right now. Your post was a powerful reminder, thank you!

Those tulips are beautiful, enjoy each moment of them!

Gorgeous flowers from your hubby! You are not alone - so much of what you said could be said of me. I'm trying to work on taking o.n.e. moment at a time and being in it while I'm there. Thanks for the reminder to stay in this moment. Right now!

What beautiful photos, Marilyn! I love the natural waxiness of those tulips. Your post made me smile because my blog post today is also about paying attention to the moment. :)

I totally agree. This thought was brought to me recently. And I realized I do the exact same thing. Rush through the moment to get to the next thing on the list. Have to learn to live in the moment, I told myself. It's really all you have.

I find this very true for myself as well, I think I could (should) have written it!

The tulips are beautiful!

Marilyn darling sounds like you and I are cut from the same cloth, I too need to slow down, savor the moment, and not worry so much about what is next. Thanks darling for reminder.

A good reminder. I work very hard to live 'in the moment' and only sometimes do I succeed.

Beautiful tulips!

O wow, wow, wow! Love these parrot tulips!

You make a very valid point here! I must live more in the moment. It's not just about enjoying the moment, it can be about safety too. A friend of mine was just saying the exact same thing last summer. She was thinking about something else while she was climbing a ladder and, you guessed it, she fell off and broke her shoulder.

Thanks for the reminder.
