Perfumery of Tea

Often when I step into a tea shop
I am reminded of perfume shops in Paris.
We open containers and sniff.
Oh the fragrance sitting there.
Sometimes the fragrance is of earthy tones
or is a sweetness we smell there.

Maybe what we smell is bergomot or orange and cloves.
But whatever the fragrance,
take a sniff and savor the special smell of tea.

"The fragrance of adventure and poetry endlessly
pervades each cup of tea."
Henri Mariage, founder of Mariage Freres.

Photo taken in Barcelona, Spain, as I stepped inside a beautiful, small tea shop.

Don't forget the give away mentioned on Tuesday.
The drawing will be announced on Monday morning.

You are right, Marilyn... stepping inside a tea shop is often like entering a perfume shop! Last weekend I was reminded of this very thing when I went to a tea/coffee merchant for some fresh loose leaf teas. The tea displays shelves had a little tiny glass bottle 1/4 filled with tea leaves...unstop to get a scent before choosing/buying... It was like perfume heaven... aaahhh... I should do a tea post soon. ;o) Happy Weekend ((HUGS))

We don't have good tea shops in Lansing. Shops that sell tea and tea shops are quite different! But there is a nice one in Ann Arbor, not far from the highway, which maybe you'll see when you're in Michigan!
