Each year my sister and I celebrate our March birthdays by having lunch somewhere.
This year we decided to have a picnic in the park, a tea time picnic.
If you have been visiting me here long enough you will know tea time outdoors
is a favorite of mine.
We picked the day and met at Champoeg Park between Salem and Portland, Oregon.
After all one of us lives in Salem and one of us in Portland.
We each contributed to our tea time celebration.
My sister brought chopped black olive sandwiches, chicken salad sandwiches, and chocolate
cups with fresh berries.
My contributions was cucumber sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches,
cherry cookies, lemon bars, plus tea.
We enjoyed an oolong and fig tea from Provence, Compagnie Coloniale.
What a lovely tea, a gift from a friend, to celebrate the end of our
birthday month.
The cups were a birthday gift from another friend.
Aren't they gorgeous?
They are Fern Posy, Royal Stafford, Made in England, bone china.
Of course flowers must be included in tea time.
We were surrounded by wild flowers, which were just beautiful.
Tea Time celebrations in the outdoors are the very best!

what a perfect way for you two to celebrate! And given my email to you about our tea plan, a good motivator in the presentation department!
Your birthday celebration was just wonderful, the park is a good place to have tea.
Happy Birthday!
You gals had the best dressed picnic table with a tablecloth, real china and dainty sandwiches.
What a fun birthday tradition! I love the first photo.
Now that's my kind of picnic. Beautiful new teacup that blends right in with the nature around it.
Happy Birthday!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARILYN! This looks like a perfect celebration in the park. Your hand painted cup and saucer are lovely. All the food items look perfect! Love it all! So glad you shared your birthday celebration.
What a wonderful birthday tea celebration with your sister. And you were in my neighborhood! The beauty outdoors this time of year is so refreshing. Thank you for letting us a peek at your special day.

What a great teatime and on such a gorgeous blue-sky kind of day! Wow!
Such an absolutely delightful afternoon tea - love the very first photo with the blue teapot capturing the blue sky. Beautiful!
This looks fantastic! Summer was too humid and hot for picnics here and now it is too rainy!
