Gardener's Dream

The first weekend in May each year finds me at the Canby, Oregon fairgrounds.
It is a gardeners dream, full of plants for the garden.
There is everything you can imagine such as tomato starts and lavender, but there are the surprises too.
Cute bird houses and planter ideas are there.
I always stop by one tent that has plants to attract butterflies and hummingbirds.
Plants have come home now and will soon find a new home in my garden.
Now if it would just stop raining, so I can go into the garden and make room for new plants.
I just know the hummingbirds and butterflies are waiting.

Lovely collage, Marilyn. I googled Canby and discovered that it's a bit of a drive south from Portland but seems like it would still be a good daytrip to take sometime. Can't wait for post-June 17th so I can plan disappearances to the North.

Beautiful collage --- what a wonderful plant sale! The sun is shining today and the wind has stopped. Maybe today I can plant my herbs and flowers. I've been tending them in pots for nearly two weeks now, waiting for a calm and pleasant day. May you have such as day too!

PS: I love, love, love your pretty in pink collage!

Nice job on the collage! We were to two garden centers today. I have everything for the front now. It's just a matter of getting the stuff in!

That is a pretty collage. I really like the birdhouse with the hens and chickens planted on the roof. :-)

I want to go - it will snow here tomorrow unless they are wrong!

Very inviting collage... it makes me want to be able to inhale all of the scents that go with the photos! We had a tease of spring and now its feeling almost like fall again with cold and rain.

Please send some of that rain my way! It's so dry and hot here, already the plants are stressing and I have to drag those hoses around every other day!

This afternoon the hydrangea bushes looked like they were on their last legs - 90 degrees again and direct sun since the trees were removed, not good! Now at 9PM they are perked up again - starting to turn blue - hopefully they'll greet me in all their Summer glory when I return from Africa.

Have fun planting your pretties Marilyn. I'll be off on Wed., see you when I get back - I'll have lots of catching up to do!

Hugs - Mary

You were almost in my back yard! The Canby plant sale is just a few blocks from my home and I couldn't go this year. Wish I could have met you there! I love that arrangement of pots in the lower right corner of your collage. She was at the big Home and Garden Show at the Expo earlier this year and I told her I would see her here - but I didn't! Maybe next year. Did you know that Canby is called 'The Garden Spot' of the state? Yes, we are!

Terrific, event! That's my kind of thing too--love garden shows and such. I can see lots of lavender there in this lovely collage... Hope the sun shines and you're planting out pretties this weekend, Marilyn! :o) ((HUGS))
