Come Sit Awhile

Come sit awhile.
Let the dappled sun coming through the window warm you on a winter day.
Dream the dreams of JOY and envelop you with Delight.
Sip your tea.
Savor a small piece of chocolate.
Pamper yourself.
Pick up a book and read with abandonment.

Do you take time to do this for yourself?
What could you add to the list?
What book is delighting and capturing your attention right now?

The book I am finding fascinating is The Teahouse Fire by Ellis Avery.
It takes place in Japan in the late 1800's.
For those that are intrigued with the Japanese tea ceremony,
you would particularly be captured by this story.
I am half way through the story and can't wait to know how it ends.
Do you ever cheat and read the last couple pages to see how it ends?
Oh it is tempting, but I will wait.

So pamper yourself soon, make a date and stick to it.
Maybe this weekend?
Yes, the weekend is here, have a good one, dear friends!

This is exactly how I plan to start my morning in a few minutes. I've been looking forward to starting my book club's next book along with some white tea I recently purchased. I cherish my morning reading time on the weekends.

What a cozy spot, Marilyn. And yes, I'm doing that more and more these winter days. Right now I'm reading a book called "Fascinating Rhythm" (non-fiction, about movie musicals) and one on care, exercises and structure of the feet. But my friend Suzanne gave me six books for our belated Christmas this weekend -- mysteries and a biography related to Downton Abbey's real people -- so plenty to come (not to mention the big stack in the corner!)

My ereader is loaded up for our month in Florida and I've brought some of my own tea things to feel at home.
The chair you've shown looks like a cozy and well lit place to read and sip.

Hi Marilyn. I'm picking up again on the Kate Burkholder series by Linda Castillo. Looking for #4 in the series now.

…..no, no,no, I never skip to the end! Tempted but don't give in.
I'm reading a novel set in Bengal currently - a hard read but I'll persevere to the end.

Happy weekend dear - Mary

Hi Marilyn - I love visiting with you. I would add some sounds of nature light music, flutes and harps and the like. I am reading "Desolation Run" - a true story of escape. It is quite good.
Enjoy your Sunday - we are bracing for a second blizzard - so my marinara sauce is simmering and smells delicious - the sweet Italian sausage is all cooked and later we will cook some ravioli. Add a nice bottle of Italian red wine and it is heaven!
Many blessings
Love Gail
peace....

I'm currently looking for my next read. My last one was so very, very, VERY bad that I am going to be super choosy next time. The Pact was the worst book I've ever read. UGH! So, I'm on the hunt. I notice you have Without Reservations in your list. It is one of my favorite books. In fact, we like a lot of the same books. I may have to try The Orchid House. I haven't read that one yet.

What a cozy reading spot -- I love it! I usually read at least three books a week for work (review two, edit and/or proofread one), and yet I still try to read for pleasure each evening! Am reading an FBI mystery at the moment, but next up is Laura Childs' latest tea shop mystery, I think (the 2014 one - I missed it!).

That would be nice.

What a LOVELY, cheerful corner!! Where is this? Great book you're reading, Marilyn. I must add that one to my list, and didn't know about this one. I used to flip to the back of a book for the ending, usually if I was skeptical about how the story was going. But I try not to now... emphasis on try... ;o) I'm between books at the moment, just picking up something new to start--Hearing God by Dallas Willard. Happy Days ((HUGS))
