National Hot Tea Month

January just makes sense to be National Hot Tea Month;
so I am celebrating each day this month with a cup of hot tea.
Easy for sure, but all the same I am celebrating and lifting my cup to you.
Let's celebrate together.
What's in your cup?
Something hot?
Remember each kind of tea deserves to be treated with love.
That means the right temperature for each tea.
Did you know a black tea loves a full boil,
but a green tea shines with a temperature of about 185 degrees.
Oolongs thrive and blossom at about 190 degrees.

I always say we are worth drinking the good stuff;
let's go for artisan teas whenever possible.
Tea bag tea is just not the same.

But whatever you sip, celebrate with me.
Have a hot bracing cup of tea.

Happy weekend, dear friends!

I did NOT know that about temperature. Thanks. Personally, I like tea that's not scalding hot but not tepid. I like to be able to actually drink it without burning me out!

And January is a perfect month for that and I think I'll make a cuppa right now!

I have a cup of black tea in a cup next to me just now. I use tea bags when I need to drink decaf tea, in the afternoons. In the mornings, loose leaf is wonderful.

Oh my gosh, didn't know January was National Hot Tea Month. Maybe I'll do a post as well. Jess got me the English Breakfast tea, and it's a whole leaf tea blend, so I've been sipping on that. Marilyn, I love this picture, and your charming copper tea pot.

I hope the new year is being good to you so far.

Happy New Year! I've been enjoying a new to me oolong: Honey Oolong by Esteemed Tea Collective. I discovered this tea at the San Francisco Tea Festival. Wonderful,smooth tea on a rainy day.

A whole month to celebrate hot tea--HOORAY! I've just has a black tea along with a bowl of Asian noodles for my breakfast--VERY warm and satisfying for a cold, snowy winter's morning here! I'm trying to prepare green tea better, and not let the temp of the water get too high. I think that's why I've not "liked" green tea as much, I often get it wrong--and it goes bitter. :/ Here's to growing in better friendship with green teas this year! ;) Happy Week, my friend ((HUGS))

Happy National Hot Tea Month! My mug has been filled with a smooth black tea hand carried from Indonesia. I admire the leaves before and after I brew the tea, and enjoy the tea hot when it's freshly brewed, and also cold if I don't finish the mug! Teh hitam seduh. A classic black tea. With special thanks and appreciation to my niece's fiance.

I'm late to the tea party AGAIN! Sorry dear Marilyn, things just seem to have slowed me down, especially Blogger/Safari problems on the computer, mostly commenting issues. There is illness in the family in England, next door neighbor friend hospitalized and very ill, cat sitting for other neighbor, grandkids' problems, weather related slowdowns, shoulder pain continuing, and of course old age not being kind in many ways! Sorry to sound so negative - I so dislike being in this kind of funk.

Yes I do know about the water temp. for tea - and right now I'm ready for a hot cuppa of something bold to get me going.
Lovely photo - fire will burn in our hearth tonight and the coming days now the chill is on!
Love, Mary
