Tea by the Sea

Growing up near the Pacific Ocean I realized that my heart belongs there.
Right there by the sea.
When, at a younger adult age, I lived in Kansas the thing I mourned was the sea.
My heart just has to take me there every once in the while,
to walk or sit and be quiet, letting the sounds of the sea wash over me.
Recently I could hear it calling; so a day trip was planned.
Of course my teacup, a nibble, and hot water went along.
The nibble was a granola bar, which I enjoy making occasionally.
The tea was Darjeeling in a teabag for the simple reason
it just makes it easy.
The day was a bit cool, but refreshing as in the city it felt like summer.
Others were called to the sea also.
Do you have a place that calls to you to come on occasion?
For me it is the sea.

Happy weekend, dear friends!
Follow your heart!

I love water anywhere. Sea. Lake. River. I love that you take your tea along!

Oh, just like your heart calls you to the sea every once in awhile, my heart calls me to the mountains. Jess loves the sea, like you, and has lived there most of her adult life. I love your tea cup....it's simple and pretty. It's wonderful that you got to visit a place that means so much to you, Marilyn.

The sea is where I long to be! It calls my name and I have to go. A few weeks ago we decided to take our cabin-on-wheels to the coast where I could have some days of recovery from surgery. Yesterday it was obvious that we needed to cancel that trip until I'm a bit stronger. So, I dream of the day we will take off and head to the beach. I love your tea menu. You always have such interesting ways to take tea!

For me it is the sea too! I come from Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands and I am currently teaching in a Balkan nation sooo far away from the sea. I miss it a lot. Lovely blog you have here, I will be passing by again to read your stories, no doubt about it!

I love the water. Growing up in Florida it was my refuge when I was living there. Your solace is just so peaceful and gorgeous. Now all I need is the sound of the waves :-).

Know just what you mean Marilyn - and I felt exactly the same feelings when I looked at the bay in my hometown, stared out across the calm water, watched the gentle waves roll in to the same beach steps I sat on as a child etc.

No place like home.

This was sooo LOVELY, Marilyn! And it's always a special time to go along with you on one of your wandering tea cup journeys! The sea... it does call! I grew up inland. There were lakes, streams... but the sea always called to me. To live now, near water, was definitely a dream come true. I don't think I could live inland again... haha! Although, there is something about the beautiful farm-country of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, near where I'm from, and that does call me too--so I like a bit of both... sea and farms, fields. The county we live in here has both--farms and fields, but a short way to the sea. :) Happy Days, my friend ((HUGS))
